Wagon R EV- First EV From Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its best-selling car, Wagon R, in an electric version.

The Wagon R EV will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car, which the company has even shared on its Facebook page.

Since 2018, Maruti Suzuki has been testing the electric version of the Wagon R, with 50 prototypes being tested.

The Futuro-E, also known as the XL5, is Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle. It is slated to be unveiled during the country’s upcoming 2020 Auto Expo.

Like the CNG and petrol variants of the WagonR, there will also be an electric version.

Maruti has branded its front and rear side. Earlier, it was also tested in Gurugram, India.

Wagon R EV Price

The Wagon R EV has yet to be given a price tag, but company officials have hinted that it will not be inexpensive. Wagon R EV costs are expected to be about Rs 10 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).

However, subsidies from the central and state governments could put the effective price closer to Rs 7 lakh.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV could become a milestone. It might also kick-start India’s electric revolution, thanks to cheap pricing and decent specifications.

Maruti will later launch other sedans and hatchbacks in the electric version. The electric vehicle is expected to be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa dealership facilities.

Redesigned projector headlamps, a new radiator grille with chrome surrounds, body-coloured bumpers, and elegant shapes on the bonnet will be featured on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV exteriors.

ORVMs in body colour, fender side indicators, B-pillar blackout, and new alloy wheels will be featured on the side profile.

At the back, the wide-opening tailgate, new clear lens tail lamps, roof-mounted antenna, and chrome badging will give the electric car a distinctive appearance on the road.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV interiors will be dual-toned, with an accentuated instrument panel, emphasized door trimmings, and quality fabric upholstery for the seats.

Premium features include an extensive SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a multifunction steering wheel, and an automatic gearbox with brake regeneration function on the Maruti Suzuki Futuro-E.

Glove box with lock, bottle storage on each door, and a large boot are all standard equipment.

The manual air conditioning and entertainment system with steering-mounted controls provide top-quality enjoyment while on the road.

Because the electric vehicle is projected to be a high-end product in India, it will likely include an automatic climate control system.

The Wagon R’s upholstery and air conditioning vents appear to have been used. The Futuro-E will have split headlights and new alloy wheels on the outside.

Wagon R EV Range & Performance

According to media reports, the electric car can cover a distance of more than 200 kilometres on a single full charge. With this driving range, WagonR EV can become a suitable city electric car.

Wagon R EV Battery

With the help of a standard charger, it will take about 7 hours to fully charge it, while up to 80 percent can be charged in one hour with a fast charger.

An electric motor with a power output of 50 kW would power the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Electric Vehicle. The final parameters at the time of launch would determine the overall power and torque.

An automatic transmission would be required for smooth variation and transmission of power and torque on fluctuating road conditions.

Wagon R EV Controlling & Handling Performance

The Wagon R Electric Vehicle’s performance would be boosted by improved car dynamics and balancing, as well as alterations to the interiors to accommodate the vehicle’s battery.

Long travels are made more enjoyable by the power steering, which has a 4.8-meter turning circle radius and smooth power and torque fluctuation.

The suspension system, which includes McPherson struts in the front and isolated trailing link suspension in the rear, absorbs the most road shocks and keeps the passengers comfortable.

Wagon R EV Rivals

The Mahindra E2O and Tata Electric Vehicle will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV.

This model would benefit from roomy interiors, long-range drivability, and strong service support.

Wagon R EV Launch Date

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV is set to launch in August 2021.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV will be a fantastic mixture of enhanced aesthetics and more excellent handling.

It will be a worthy choice because of its large interiors, superior comfort, entertainment facilities, and extended range drivability per charge.
