Volkswagen ID. Buzz- Headline
The wait for the return of the Volkswagen bus is almost over.
Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen, announced on Twitter that the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Microbus will be unveiled on March 9, 2022.
Volkswagen announced on Friday that the long-awaited ID Buzz, an electric reincarnation of its beloved Microbus or Kombi, will be unveiled on March 9 and will be available in the United States in late 2023.
During a press conference, Scott Keogh, head of Volkswagen’s North American operations, stated that the ID. Buzz is the “most anticipated and hyped” model from the Volkswagen brand since the company launched its new Beetle in the late 1990s.
Here are the three significant highlights of Volkswagen ID. Buzz:
- On March 9, 2022, the 2024 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Microbus will be unveiled.
- Its three-row passenger van configuration will arrive in the United States in 2023.
- Pricing is expected to begin around $40,000, with both single- and dual-motor options available.
According to Keogh, a three-row version of the ID. Buzz will be released in the United States in late 2023 or early 2024; the original microbus became a counterculture icon.
In Europe, Volkswagen will launch a two-row model. The ID.Buzz is based on the iconic Type 2 Microbus, which debuted in the 1950s, and its design will be appropriately retro.
We’ve seen prototypes being tested, and VW teased a production version last fall (pictured). It will be built on VW’s Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform, which underpins the ID.4 electric crossover currently on sale in the United States.
The ID. Buzz will have a driving range of around 300 miles and will be available in single- and dual-motor configurations with rear- or all-wheel drive.
Unfortunately, only a long-wheelbase passenger van version will be available in the United States.
Only a long-wheelbase passenger van version will be available in the United States.
It will have three rows of seats that can be configured in various ways and can even be removed.
We anticipate that pricing will begin at around $40,000 to compete with other EV offerings.
In Europe, a commercial cargo version with no windows will be sold.
