Volkswagen teased the ID. Aero Sedan concept.
Volkswagen ID. Aero Sedan Concept – Overview
Volkswagen is introducing an entirely electric four-door vehicle.
The concept version, originally known as the Aero B through several teasers and spy images, was scheduled to be unveiled in its entirety in China in April but was delayed owing to the epidemic.
This time, Volkswagen made it official and disclosed its production name: the ID. Aero.
This month, a concept version will be revealed.
The German brand also released a teaser of the design study (see above), which will eventually be turned into a production car.
The ID. Aero Concept will be Volkswagen’s first all-electric sedan with a flowing design that resembles a fastback.
The tailgate-wide LED graphic certainly demands attention, and there are hardly any wrinkles or creases.
The ID. Aero, according to Volkswagen, “has superb aerodynamics, attractive design, and extensive room.”
But keep in mind that the teaser was simply an idea.
As seen in the several Aero B spy photos we have already come across, the production version differs slightly, albeit it has been skillfully camouflaged to obscure the crucial elements.
It should be noted that the fastback form and lines match those in the most recent teaser.
Based on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB), the VW ID. Aero sedan is intended to increase Wolfsburg’s selection of electric vehicles in the high-volume upper-middle-class market.
Although no technical information is available, it is essential to remember that the Aero B Concept was announced to have a range of 435 miles (700 kilometers).
The ID. Aero Concept will be officially unveiled on June 27, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. ET, according to Volkswagen.
In the second half of 2023, the production version will be first offered for sale in China.
While no precise date has been set yet, the ID. Aero will make its debut in North America and Europe in 2023.
It will be made in Volkswagen’s Emden facility.
