Design

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F has undergone various design changes.

The unique headlight unit is enhanced with a 55-watt high beam and a projector with the same wattage.

The Pulsar 220F also has a sporty flair because the mesh was added around the collection and is semi-fairing.

While the typical semi-fairing continues to entice customers with its now-classic appearance, the famous fuel tank design is like an old bottle of wine that is aging rather nicely.

In the January 2019 update, a brand-new engine cowl was also included.

The motorcycle has a semi-fairing that gives it a nice look, exceptional agility, and two vertical halogen headlights with low and high beams.

A black front visor and dual rear mirrors are also characteristics of the motorcycle.

The pass switch, electric start, engine stop switch, and self-canceling blinkers are on the clip-on handlebar.

The bike also includes stylish split seats with plenty of padding that provide the rider and the pillion with outstanding comfort.

In addition, this bike has a modern LED tail lamp, split rear grip rails, and crystal glass turn indicators.

Dimensions

The Pulsar 220F is made on a double cradle down tube and has an actual street appearance thanks to its dimensions of 2035 mm in length, 750 mm in width, 1165 mm in height, and 1350 mm in wheelbase.

The machine’s total curb weight is 160 kg, with a minimum ground clearance of 165 mm.

Instrumental Cluster

In addition, a 12000 rpm meter, two trip meters with average fuel efficiency data, instant fuel economy, an odometer, an analog tachometer, and a distance-to-empty function are all displayed on the console.

The bike’s instrument cluster has been updated from the previous iteration with faux carbon fiber bezels and a blue-lit LCD as opposed to an amber one in the older model.

While the other features, such as an air filter choke-up light, a low battery warning indicator, a side stand warning signal, and neutral-high beam controls, have not changed, the typefaces and information on the cockpit have undergone significant alterations.

Engine Specifications

The most recent model is a 220cc, 4-stroke, and DTS-I, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a five-speed gearbox.

The engine produces a max of 20.4 HP @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.55 Nm @ 7000 rpm.

Power is distributed to the back wheel using a wet multi-plate clutch assembly.

Thanks to Digital Twin Spark Ignition (DTS-i) technology, the motorbike has a respectable mileage rating. However, the BS6 emission-compliant engine has not undergone any mechanical modifications.

Brakes, Suspension, and Tyres

The Pulsar 220F has reinforced 5-spoke alloy wheels and front and rear wide tubeless tires measuring 90/90-17 and 120/80-17, respectively.

The front disc brakes, which have a 280mm diameter, and the rear disc brakes, which have a 230mm diameter, are coupled to a single-channel ABS unit.

The motorcycle’s five-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorbers at the back and front telescopic forks anticipate the suspension system to deliver a comfortable ride on any surface.

Top Speed and Mileage

The 220F is a robust top-end vehicle for long highway drives.

This motorcycle has a top speed of 144 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.80 seconds. Additionally, the quarter fairing contributes to a better driving experience when traveling at high speeds on the highway by helping to deflect wind.

The bike offers a respectable mileage of about 35–40 km per liter in the city and 45–50 km per liter on the highway, thanks to the 15-liter fuel tank and DTS-i technology, which uses twin spark plugs to facilitate complete combustion and boost fuel economy.
