Here’s What Industry Insiders Say About Polestar.
Polestar Price In USA-Unveils Three New Models Due In 2025
Volvo’s electric subbrand will debut two SUVs and a flagship sedan in the next four years, and a 103.0-kWh battery pack will power them.
Polestar has a lot of ambitions for the coming years. Polestar was previously a designation for Volvo’s performance cars, but it has now evolved into a subbrand with an electric lineup that includes the two electric sedans.
By 2024, the Swedish automaker hopes to expand its offering to four vehicles, with sales expected to rise from 10,000 cars last year to 290,000 by 2025. These are the new Polestar models that will be available soon.
On the European WLTP cycle, each of these electric vehicles aims for a driving range of 373 miles, which will likely translate to an EPA rating of over 300 miles in the United States.
Polestar claims they’ll be able to charge to 80% in 20 minutes, thanks to an 800-volt electrical design co-developed with Volvo and Lotus and a 103.0-kWh battery pack.
The electrical design will support around 22 kilowatts of bidirectional charging to power a home and possibly other electric vehicles.
Polestar is also developing a 603 horsepower electric motor, and future models will have a two-speed transmission similar to the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-Tron GT.
2022 Model-Polestar 3
The Polestar 3 is a 5 seat, 2-row crossover set to debut at the end of next year. Polestar claims it will be comparable to the Porsche Cayenne in size, price, and performance.
Gregor Hembrough, CEO of Polestar USA, says of Porsche, “Our ambitions, aspirations are to be in that area of performance, design, and innovation.”
It will be offered in both single and dual-motor variants.
The price is likely to be around $75,000. This first shot from Polestar shows a camouflaged prototype of the three, which gives a decent impression of its overall shape and size.
2023 Model-Polestar 4
Polestar has only released a white-sheet image of the 4 SUV, but the company describes it as a coupe-like crossover that will compete with the Porsche Macan.
We anticipate it slightly smaller than the 3, but with a similar style. The 4’s starting price is expected to be in the mid-$50,000 range.
2024 Model-Polestar 5
The five will be the brand’s flagship, as shown by the concept. Polestar has released a shot of the production model, which appears strikingly identical to the concept version previously displayed. Polestar envisions it as a rival to the Porsche Panamera.
It will compete with the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and Lucid Air, among other premium electric cars. The price is likely to be around $100,000.
