2022 BMW i4 Overview BMW is poised to showcase its next electric vehicle after revealing its first new electric vehicle in over a decade, the iX SUV.

The slim headlamp treatment, heavily curved roofline, high-set notchback rear end, and OLED taillights are all shared by the i4.
Powertrains & Range
Depending on the model, the 2022 BMW i4 will feed electrons to one or two electric motors.
The eDrive40 has a single rear-axle motor that produces 335 horsepower.
According to the manufacturer, this arrangement accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, and it’s likely to have high speeds of more than 200 kph.
The M50 has electric motors on each axle, creates 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque, and enabling all-wheel drive.
Acceleration times will be reduced due to the increased power, with a claimed time of 3.9 seconds from zero to 60 mph.
The rear-drive i4 comes standard with 18-inch rims, with 19-inches available as an option.
The 2022 BMW i4 is built on a modified version of the CLAR platform, which underpins the existing 3 Series and 4 Series and can accommodate battery packs with a capacity of up to 80 kWh.
As with the bigger iX, an entry-level rear-wheel-drive option with a smaller battery will be available.
According to BMW, the single-motor, rear-drive BMW i4 eDrive40 will be able to go up to 300 miles on a single charge.
200-kilowatt charging capacity will be acquired by the i4s, which will allow it to go a further 90 miles in just 10 minutes.
The i4 can recharge its battery from 0-100 % in less than 8 hours using the Level 2 (up to 11 kW) onboard charger.
The EPA hasn’t issued fuel economy or range figures for the i4, so we’ll have to rely on BMW’s claims.

The 202 BMW i4 will be powered by BMW’s new eighth-generation iDrive operating system.
It is shared with the iX flagship and enables over-the-air updates and a significant reduction in the number of physical controls in the interior, even though it retains the iconic rotary knob used on every iteration of iDrive since its debut 20 years ago.
The 2022 BMW i4 will be the first vehicle to develop the company’s updated infotainment system and networking features.
It will be controlled via a 14.9-inch touchscreen merged with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel on a large curved display on the dashboard and dubbed iDrive 8.
The system will have enhanced voice commands, various popular functions, and a rotary controller on the center console.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 5G mobile capability are among them.
The 2022 BMW i4 comes with a wide range of standard and optional driver-assistance features.
