Spied On The Nurburgring Was A Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class Coupe
Mercedes Benz CLE Class Coupe Spied – Overview
The Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe will replace the two-door C-Class and E-Class models currently offered by the German automaker.
In these undercover photos, a sporty up-and-coming model is lapping the Nürburgring.
The grille of the CLE is roughly oval-shaped, and two angular headlamps flank the vehicle’s face.
The camouflage obscures the specifics. However, it appears like the lower fascia has a small hole.
The car features a streamlined appearance with an arched roofline and a little rear deck.
The back door has what appears to be a severe wrinkle that rises diagonally.
The CLE features an open trunk, as opposed to a hatchback, as seen from the back.
The taillights have an arch shape that points downward. The rear bumper covers the exhaust pipes.
The MRA-2 platform, which also supports the new C-Class, is used by the CLE-Class.
This implies that the powertrains of the two vehicles can be shared.
The electrified 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that will power the upcoming AMG C63 might be among the offerings.
According to preliminary estimates, this mill will have a total output of 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters) of torque and 670 horsepower (500 kilowatts).
We don’t currently have any pictures of the CLE Class.
However, the coupe might use technology from the new sedan because of the tie with the C-Class.
The infotainment system’s instruments would have big screens as a result.
In addition to this hardtop coupe, the CLE-Class is also being developed in a convertible form.
It takes the place of the C- and E-Class drop-top models.
Although a shooting brake version was said to exist in 2020, no spy images have yet surfaced.
The CLE-Class will not yet be available, according to Mercedes.
However, according to the current best guess, the reveal should occur before the end of 2022.
Therefore, the model will be sold in the first half of 2023.
After that, other options like the AMG models would gradually be added to the lineup.
