2023 Maserati Grecale Prototype Revealed!

Maserati Grecale Prototype – Overview

Maserati has repeatedly postponed the unveiling of its new Grecale SUV. It was initially scheduled to be unveiled on November 16th, 2021, but due to supply issues, the debut date has been pushed back to sometime in the spring of 2022.

Maserati engineers are testing the car in all weather situations while waiting for its official unveiling.

Our spy photographers could get some closer images this time, including the interior, because they had a long lunch.

Maserati has released new images of a Grecale prototype tested in the snow. The unveiling of this new compact SUV type was initially scheduled for late 2021, but it has been postponed until the spring of 2022.

Here are the significant highlights Maserati Grecale Prototype:

  • The Maserati Grecale is a new small SUV introduced later this year.
  • The crossover testing shown in these photographs is a prototype version.
  • It will most likely start at less than $50,000 and compete with the BMW X3 and Porsche Macan.

Unfortunately, the car’s exterior is still extensively hidden, making it difficult to understand how the Grecale will look. However, as previously stated, we anticipate a design inspired by the larger Levante SUV.

The Grecale’s proportions are comparable to its big brother’s, with a tall hood and similar C-pillar treatment.

We can expect some components to be shared between the Grecale and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio because they will be made in the same factory.

Maserati has also stated that it will offer a hybrid version of the Grecale and a battery-electric version of all of its vehicles in the future.

On the other hand, these latest images are mainly about unveiling Grecale’s inside, and we can see the unmasked infotainment screen, dashboard, and steering wheel with the gear shifter.

Engine Specifications

The Grecale shall be inspired by the exact Giorgio platform as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Thus, we expect the engine lineup to be similar.

In the United States, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque is desired.

In addition, a Trofeo variant will be available, with the same 2.9-liter V-6 engine as the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, producing 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.

Maserati claims that further information about Grecale will be released in the coming months.

It’ll most likely be the cheapest Maserati, with a beginning price of under $50,000 (the Ghibli now holds the title, with a starting price of $73,685).
