For a long time, Mahindra & Mahindra has been testing the new generation Scorpio, slated to sell next year.
A recent internet article revealed its likely debut timeline, feature set, and engine lineup.
From the spy photos, it’s clear that Scorpio’s future will take a more progressive approach to design than the current model.
The new Mahindra Scorpio will undoubtedly be one of the essential new automobile debuts next year.
While the model’s official launch date has yet to be revealed, it is expected to arrive in June.
The SUV’s new model will see extensive visual and feature updates with solid engines.
2022 Scorpio Exterior
Thanks to its body-on-frame ladder chassis, the new Mahindra Scorpio in 2022 will be larger and broader than the present generation.
It will include a larger cabin and more amenities. All LED headlamps and rear lights will be among the vehicle’s significant characteristics.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be positioned below the well-received XUV700. It will be built on a redesigned body-on-frame chassis, allowing for more substantial proportions and a more spacious cabin.

Engine Specifications
The SUV’s new model will see extensive visual and feature updates with solid engines.
According to reports, the new Mahindra Scorpio will be powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with two power outputs: 160/170bhp for higher variants and 130bhp for lower variants.
There will also be a new 2.0L, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine with 155bhp and 360Nm of torque.
The Scorpio will fight against the Hyundai Alcazar in India but will not have a direct competitor.
The 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol, and 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel engines in Hyundai’s SUV produce 159bhp and 192Nm, respectively, and 115bhp and 250Nm.
That means the new Scorpio will be far more potent than the Alcazar.
A 6-speed torque converter AMT gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission is available for the SUV.
While the AWD system will be available exclusively on higher levels, RWD will be standard.
The comfort, driving quality, and performance of the new Mahindra Scorpio 2022 may all be improved. The AWD system will have four off-road driving modes: Mud, Rock, Snow, and 4 Low.
Safety Features
The 2022 Scorpio, like the current XUV700, will have versatile turn indicators, 6- Airbags, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages are expected to be included in the vehicle’s safety features.
Price & Date of Launch
While the existing Scorpio is expected to be marketed alongside the 2022 Scorpio, we anticipate it will eventually be phased out.
The diesel engine in a higher tune might start at roughly INR 12.99 lakh in the Indian market.
Mahindra could use the 20th anniversary of Scorpio in July 2021 to launch the new model.
