Facelifted BMW X6 M60i Seen With New V8 Engine.
BMW X6 Facelift Spied – Overview
We’ve seen test prototypes of the regular and M versions of the facelifted BMW X6.
Today we have a new batch of spy shots with the Bavarian coupe-SUV, and this time we can see a new addition to the lineup.
The refreshed X6 M60i shown below will replace the X6 M50i is the top dog in the regular model lineup, positioned just below the full-fledged X6 M.
This prototype appears to be a standard X6 from the upcoming LCI series.
Under the camouflage, the front end conceals slimmer headlights, and we expect the lighting cluster to receive new graphics.
As far as we know, the grilles will not grow more extensive, though the lower section of the front bumper may change.
This test car has the current model’s taillights at the back, but we know the facelifted X6 will have new LED taillights.
In addition, the rear bumper’s shape and the exhaust finishers’ shape will also be changed, indicating that this is the new X6 M60i.
However, the most significant change with the new M Performance model is under the hood.
The successor to the X6 M50i will use the new S68 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine found under the hood of the X7 M60i.
Again, all-wheel-drive & 8-speed automatic transmission will be standard, and we anticipate a power output of around 530 horsepower (390 kilowatts).
The X6 LCI will be equipped with BMW’s new iDrive eight infotainment system, including a coast-to-coast screen housed in a single curved piece of glass.
This cutting-edge technology from Munich is now available on several BMW models, including the X7 and even the 2 Series Coupe.
Date of launch
The facelifted X6 has no official release date, but we believe it will be available in all three trim levels – regular, M Performance, and M – by the end of the year.
