New 2025 Cadillac Compact EV Crossover SPIED!
2025 Cadillac Compact EV Crossover – Overview
Cadillac is making an effort to transition to an electric lineup.
The Lyriq crossover, Cadillac’s first EV, has just started to be delivered, and when the Celestiq concept goes into production in 2025, it will be a hand-built, extremely expensive flagship.
Here are the major highlights:
- As the brand aspires to go entirely electric by 2030, a new Cadillac electric crossover that will sit below the Lyriq in the lineup has been spotted testing.
- With two-piece taillights and a sloping back windscreen, the small EV crossover appears to have much in common with the Lyriq.
- As a 2025 model year car, the new electric crossover is anticipated to go on sale in late 2024.
However, with the release of spy photographs showing Cadillac testing a smaller crossover that will sit below the Lyriq, we are now looking at one of the brand’s more mainstream, smaller electric vehicles.
Overall, this prototype seems to have much in common with its bigger sibling regarding design.
The new EV has a similar form to the Lyriq, with a sharply angled rear window, although being significantly smaller in terms of width, wheelbase, and overall length.
The front and rear overhangs are also shorter than on the Lyriq, as is the hood.
Most of the details are hidden by the camouflage, but we can make out vertical lights at the corners of the front end, which could be identical LED pieces framing the grille to those on the Lyriq.
Likewise, the two-piece taillights on the back end, which have a vertical portion that runs up the D-pillar and a horizontal section below, look to be a nod to the Lyriq.
The most intriguing design feature is a vertical brake light in the centre of the rear windshield that resembles a fin.
Additionally, the brake light appears to be topped with a winged trim piece, which might be an experimental addition or help with aerodynamics.
The little electric crossover will be produced at the General Motors plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.
Although the name of the small electric crossover is unknown, Cadillac has registered the words “Ascendiq,” “Lumistiq,” and “Vistiq” as trademarks.
For the 2025 model year, the little Cadillac EV crossover is anticipated to appear in late 2024.
