2024 Polestar 5- A Flagship on an Aluminum Platform!
2024 Polestar 5 Will Be the Flagship on an Aluminum Platform.
Last fall, a Swedish electric car manufacturer, Polestar, announced that the magnificent Precept concept, which debuted in early 2020, would go into production in 2024 under Polestar 5.
Here are the major highlights:
- A brand-new platform will be installed in the Polestar 5, a manufacturing version of the gorgeous Precept concept.
- The platform will be composed of bonded aluminum to enhance lightweight and rigidity.
- The manufacturer describes the Polestar 5 as a “performance four-door GT.” It will be released in 2024.
Polestar has now revealed that the 5, the company’s flagship model, will be built on a whole new unique platform.
This base will be composed of bonded aluminum, making it lightweight and providing “torsional rigidity superior to that of a standard two-seat sports- or supercar” according to Polestar.
Polestar claims that producing bonded aluminum chassis has previously proven labor-intensive and challenging for mass production, but that it has developed a new manufacturing technique that is speedier and “develops both body and platform in sync.”
Even though the Precept concept featured a 122.4-inch wheelbase (slightly less than an Audi A8), Polestar claims that the chassis and body will “weigh less than cars in smaller sectors.” If Polestar’s lightweight predictions come true, the five might be an actual electric vehicle with remarkable economy, range, and handling.
The Polestar 5 is being developed by the company’s engineering division in the United Kingdom, which will grow by more than 200 personnel this year to 500 engineers.
The powertrain of the 5, which Polestar describes as a “performance 4-door GT,” is still a mystery, but anticipate more details to emerge as Polestar continues to tease the production Precept on YouTube.
