2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 Overview
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq Seven concept is described as a “living place on wheels,” which is precisely what the all-electric SUV looks like.
The Seven rides on Hyundai’s new cross-brand E-GMP platform will underpin the Ioniq 5 and many other upcoming Hyundai and Kia EV cars and is said to be similar in size to the three-row Hyundai Palisade.
The Seven ideas are just that: a concept with a futuristic façade that includes innovative lighting elements, shape-shifting wheels, and glass panels on the roof and back.
It does, however, tease design language and technologies that may one day become a reality.
While its massive coach doors and furniture-like chairs seem outlandish, the idea of a vast interior with various permutations is plausible.
The 2024 Ioniq Seven aims for a range of more than 300 miles and lightning-fast charging times.
What’s New in the Year 2024?
While the Ioniq Seven concept is still in development, we expect Hyundai to use the moniker on a huge all-electric SUV with seating for up to seven or eight people.
We don’t know when the Seven will be available to the public, as the company plans to release three new EVs over the next four years, including the already disclosed Ioniq 5.
We believe it will be released in 2024 at the earliest. Unfortunately, Hyundai hasn’t stated how much the Ioniq Seven will cost or what trim levels will be available.
Still, we expect it to have a comparable portfolio to the smaller Ioniq 5, with SE, SEL, and Limited variants. Moreover, with electric vehicles projected to become increasingly common in the coming years, we wouldn’t be shocked if their price converged with that of their gas-powered counterparts.
That means the 2024 Ioniq Seven might start at roughly $50,000, which is the current Palisade top-end.
Battery Life, Range, and Charging
While we don’t know what big battery the Ioniq Seven will have, we expect it to have a large usable capacity because Hyundai aims for a more than 300 miles driving range.
When connected to a 350-kW fast charger, the Seven’s battery is said to charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
Cargo, Interior, and Comfort
The Ioniq Seven concept shows how a three-row SUV’s exterior can be paired with a completely flat floor to create enormous interior space.
In addition, Hyundai takes advantage of the partnership by replacing typical rows of chairs with flexible arrangements to make a lounge-like atmosphere.
Even if parking in tight spaces becomes more complex, a set of massive coach doors that open from the middle out promises an SUV that’s very easy to get in and out of.
However, some aspects may not make it into the final model, such as the doors. In addition, the Ioniq Seven idea foregoes a traditional steering wheel in favor of a “retractable control stick,” which sounds odder than Telsa’s yoke-style helm.
You can bet that won’t make it into the final product. A built-in micro refrigerator and chambers to, oh, “refresh passenger’s footwear” are also included in the proposal.
The centerpiece is an OLED screen that also serves as a panoramic roof.
It can show user-requested material or transform the interior environment to a more relaxed setting.
