The 2024 Ford Mustang debuts on September 14.
2024 Ford Mustang s650 – Overvie.
It is anticipated to go on sale for the 2024 model year.
Ford will display it at the Detroit auto show and is promoting the availability of a manual transmission.
Here are the major highlights:
- This new generation, known as S650, is anticipated to retain carryover engines but might also include a hybrid model.
- As depicted in our graphic, the exterior probably won’t change much, but the interior will likely undergo a considerable makeover.
2024 Ford Mustang s650 Design & Aesthetic
Unfortunately, the heyday of the brilliantly coloured Grabber Green Mustangs, Burnt Orange Camaros, and Plum Crazy Challengers tearing down Woodward Avenue is over.
But they’re not quite finished.
Ford has since confirmed that the 60th-anniversary Mustang will make its first public appearance on September 14 at the 2022 Detroit auto show, contrary to our initial speculation that it might make its debut on April 17, 2023, the day the original Mustang made its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.
We don’t anticipate the exterior design to diverge significantly from its present appearance, judging by the camouflaged mules we’ve seen wandering the streets of southeast Michigan.
However, a digital instrument cluster that wraps into a driver-focused infotainment display with additional buttons for basic operations would significantly update the interior.
It’s no secret that the Alpha platform in the Camaro outperforms the S550 chassis in the modern Mustang.
Ford’s seventh-generation vehicle, code-named the S650, is intended to change that.
Expect the 2.3-litre inline-four turbocharged engine to provide about 320 horsepower, and don’t be surprised if a hybrid version joins the fray.
We’ll be thrilled if a hybrid keeps the 450+ horsepower V-8s coming.
On the other hand, we’ll be happy if the thrilling 760-hp supercharged 5.2-litre V-8 from the GT500 remains.
Both a six-speed manual and a ten-speed automatic should be back.
The new S650 should have an eight-year life cycle, similar to the current-generation Mustang, and performance variations should be added year after year.
However, given that 2026 will see stricter corporate average mpg regulations, those speedier horses might arrive quickly.
One thing is sure, but more information won’t be available for several months: Ford and Multimatic Motorsports will build a Mustang GT3 race vehicle, which will debut at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
What will the 2024 Mustang look like?
The front grille is noticeably more extensive than previously and has a more hexagonal appearance. In addition, the pony car now has a more aggressive appearance thanks to the lower bumpers, which appear to have taken some Mach 1 design cues.
Will the 2024 Mustang have a V8?
The seventh-generation Mustang will continue to include a six-speed manual transmission and a powerful V8 engine. It’s true, just 24 hours after hearing a report that the seventh-generation Ford Mustang would make its premiere in September.
