The 2023 Lexus UX is now exclusively hybrid, with interior upgrades.
2023 Lexus UX – Overivew
Here are the major highlights:
- A larger alternative screen, a revamped center console, and a new voice-activated assistant are all available on the UXh.
- The 2023 Lexus UX will only be available as a hybrid, with the base 169-horsepower inline-four engine being phased out.
- The 2023 UXh will be available this summer, but no pricing has been mentioned.
For the 2023 model year, Lexus is updating its smallest crossover, the UX, and the biggest news is that the subcompact SUV will become a hybrid entirely, with the 169-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-four motor being dropped.
Instead, it will only be powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine and an electric motor driving the rear wheels, totaling 181 horsepower.
Design & Aesthetic
A Design and Handling package is also available for the 2023 UX 250h F Sport vehicles.
The former has F Sport-specific wheels, grille, black roof, painted wheel arches, and features such as a sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, and automated headlamp leveling.
Performance dampers and Active Variable Suspension are also included in the F Sport Handling.
The inside enhancements are heated and vented F Sport seats, a steering wheel, shift lever, and aluminum pedals.
Lexus made a few minor changes to the UXh in addition to discontinuing the gas-only model.
Lexus claims that 20 spot welding locations have been added to the body to increase structural strength and that new Bridgestone 18-inch run-flat tires have been engineered to reduce noise and vibration.
In addition, the center console has been redesigned, and the optional bigger screen has grown two inches to 12.3 inches.
A new voice-activated assistant is also available, and other techniques such as a digital app-based key.
The price of the 2023 Lexus UXh has yet to be announced, but the cheapest UX hybrid trim, the UX 250h, started at $36,825, and we don’t expect it to rise significantly.
The 2023 UXh will be available for purchase later this summer.
