2023 Kia Telluride – Overview
Like its Hyundai Palisade brother, the Kia Telluride three-row SUV is getting some upgrades for the 2023 model year.
Here are the significant highlights:
- Kia has unveiled the first photographs of their revamped Telluride SUV for 2023.
- The interior boasts a widescreen across the dashboard, and the headlamps are slightly different.
- The 2023 Telluride will debut at the New York auto show next week before selling later this year.
Although a teaser image of the front end shows some minor modifications, the inside appears to be getting a major makeover thanks to a new dashboard with a big screen that spans two-thirds of the cabin’s width.
In addition, Kia has also confirmed the addition of an X-Pro off-road option to the Telluride portfolio.
We speculate that this new arrangement will be similar to previous Kia models like the Sorento, which has a single bezel with separate panels for the digital gauge cluster and central infotainment display.
The main visual modifications appear to be new headlights and some contouring of the lower front fascia, with the rear perhaps receiving similar alterations.
In addition, all-terrain tires, revised bumpers, a roof rack, and other elements make the Telluride X-Pro look more rugged, just like the Sportage that inaugurated this new off-road trim level likely to be included.
The only powertrain option for the Telluride, a 3.8-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automated transmission, is likely to remain unchanged.
All-wheel drive will be a choice, while front-wheel drive will remain standard.
Given that several competitors offer gas-electric drivetrains, a Telluride hybrid would be a sensible addition to the portfolio, but we haven’t heard anything about it happening anytime soon.
However, Kia has stated that the EV9, an electric three-row SUV similar to the Telluride, will be released next year.
When the 2023 Telluride makes its premiere at the New York car show next week, on April 13, expect to learn more about it.
