2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison Is Here!
2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison – Overview
The American Bison has steadily returned to the West after being hunted almost to extinction, and it is now customary to see them in Yellowstone National Park.
Here are the major highlights:
- First, the ZR2 Bison grade level will be available on Chevy’s Silverado pickup.
- The model results from a partnership with American Expedition Vehicles, just like the Colorado ZR2 Bison.
- This fall, the Silverado ZR2 Bison will be available for purchase for $78,490.

With the addition of the Silverado ZR2 Bison pickup truck to the Colorado ZR2 Bison that has been roaming Chevy dealer lots since 2019, the ZR2 Bison genus will soon double in the population at Chevrolet.
The new Silverado, the model’s most extreme off-roader, was created with off-road experts American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), much like the mid-size Colorado ZR2 Bison.
Based on the current ZR2 (which endures), it adds five underbody skid plates, rocker-panel protectors, and new stamped-steel front and rear bumpers with integrated step plates and front tow hooks.
Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires measuring 33 inches in diameter are mounted on 18-inch gloss black wheels.
Though precise numbers are not yet available, the redesigned bumpers enable steeper approach and departure angles.

Chevrolet has calculated an approach angle of 32.5 degrees and a departure angle of 23.4 degrees. At 11.2 inches, the ground clearance remains constant.
Aside from the black wheels unique to the trim, the Bison is distinguished by its body-colored grille bar, a matte-black panel on its standard Multi-Flex tailgate, and Bison and AEV badging inside out.
The 6.2-liter V-8 that powers the Bison’s sole engine produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, much like the ZR2. A 10-speed automatic transmission delivers power to front and rear electrically locking differentials.
Chevy is asking $78,490 for the ZR2 Bison, a significant premium above the $71,545 price of the 2023 Silverado ZR2.
