All-New 2022 Toyota Hilux GR Sport Edition!
2022 Toyota Hilux GR Sport Edition – Overview
All-New 2022 Hilux is one of the most popular pickup trucks on the market. While the pickup truck market in India isn’t particularly robust, pickup trucks are popular in other countries.
In addition, Hilux is one of many modern pickup trucks that compete in challenging races worldwide, such as the Dakar rally.
In the shape of a top-spec GR Sport Edition, the Japanese automaker has launched a sportier version of the Hilux. Hilux’s GR Sport Edition is reported to have been influenced by the brand’s Dakar Rally victory.
As a result, several exteriors and interior design improvements and some new features and functional advancements are included in this premium trim.
The Hilux GR Sport Edition gets a revised front bumper with broader side air intakes and more prominent fog lamp casings starting with the exterior.
A fully dark exterior concept enhances its sporting charm. Other significant changes include gloss black trimmings all over the body and a body-colored skid plate.
In addition, the beefy pickup truck is outfitted with all-terrain tyres and 17-inch alloy wheels with a black and machine treatment.
GR Sport logos have been plastered on the front grille and tailgate to set it apart from the rest of the lineup.
Blacked-out door mirror casings, side stairs, a tailgate handle, and plastic fender extenders are other prominent features.
The exterior’s all-black concept was continued inside the cabin, with black leather upholstery and synthetic suede.
The cabin is made sportier with contrast red stitching. Carbon fiber accents on the dashboard and center console add a touch of luxury, while a red deco line running the length of the instrument panel elevates the looks.
It has GR SPORT branding on the seatbacks, carpet mats, starter button, and information display animation graphic because it is a GR Sport Edition.
There are also aluminum pedals, blue door panel illumination, and a manual gear shift paddle behind the steering wheel inside the cockpit.
A JBL sound system, navigation, heated front, and back seats, and other amenities are included in the cabin.
In addition to cosmetic changes, Toyota has improved the functionality of the Hilux GR Sport Edition.
This includes changes to the suspension configuration, such as front coil spring reinforcement and monotube shock absorbers.
The typical leaf-spring design is retained at the rear end. These enhancements improve damping, straight-line performance, handling, and excellent grip.
The powertrain hasn’t been updated in any way. Instead, the pickup truck is powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine that produces 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of peak torque.
The oil burner is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission with a low-range transfer case, which transfers power to all four wheels via a 4WD system.
The availability of a mechanical limited-slip differential adds to the vehicle’s off-road prowess.
