2022 Nissan GTR – Overview

The 2022 Nissan GT-R, which can produce up to 600 horsepower, is a potent and agile sports car that has earned the moniker “Godzilla.”

Unfortunately, even though it was first debuted in 2009, its formula hasn’t evolved much compared to the sports cars it competes with.

With a dated appearance and low-quality materials typical to lower Nissan models, the GT-age R’s is most noticeable inside. However, the GT-R does have a few advantages.

One feature is that every model comes standard with all-wheel drive, which improves handling and gives the car a stable, secure feeling.

You will also stick out in traffic or on your next track day because it is more uncommon than a Porsche 911.

Latest Updates for 2022

By 2022, Nissan will release a Special Edition GT-R based on the 600-hp NISMO grade.

Few vehicles will be produced, though Nissan has not yet specified how many will be sold in North America.

A carbon fiber hood, exclusive Stealth Gray exterior paint, and unique 20-inch wheels coated in black with red accents will all be used to identify Special Edition cars.

Nissan charges six figures for a vehicle launched ten years ago for less money and hasn’t altered much since.

However, those who want a permanent seat in the most potent car to wear the GT-R label aren’t concerned about the cost.

Although the NISMO is the top model, it is more expensive than the rare McLaren 570 and Porsche 911 Turbo S.

Given this, we’d advise purchasing the least costly GT-R Premium.

Interior Design

The GT-R features spacious front seats, but only little children might feel at ease in the back seats.

The inside is tastefully furnished and offers a wealth of standard equipment, but those hoping for a high-end interior like the Mercedes-AMG GT or the Audi R8 will be dissatisfied.

Every model offers standard, heated front seats, leather and suede upholstery, and dual-zone climate control.

The only interior cubby storage options are large door pockets and a small center console bin.

An 8.0-inch touchscreen that can also be operated with a rotary knob on the center console is standard equipment on every 2022 Nissan GTR.

Android Auto is not an option, but Apple CarPlay functionality, in-dash navigation, and a Bose audio system are.

Yet, despite its infotainment system’s unattractive graphics and menus, it is simple.

Safety Features

No Nissan driver-assistance systems are present here, but to be fair, most GT-R competitors also lack most of these kinds of electronics.

Essential safety elements include:

  • Standard parking sensors for the front and back.

The twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 that comes standard on the 2022 GT-R produces a robust 565 horsepower.

It connects to an all-wheel-drive system and a six-speed automatic transmission, which work together to transfer all that power to the ground.

The GT-R accelerated from 0 to 60 mph on our test track in under 2.9 seconds.

Even inexperienced drivers can feel heroic when operating a GT-R thanks to its quick steering, muscular body, and adjustable suspension.

Due to active noise reduction, the GT-thrum R’s engines won’t hurt your ears while driving down the highway.

The ride is firm but not harsh.

According to the EPA, every GT-R should achieve an estimated 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

What is the top speed of 2022 Nissan GTR?

Although Nissan doesn’t provide an official 0-62 mph acceleration time, a conservative estimate places it at under four seconds. Nissan claims the GT-top R’s speed is 196 mph.

What car can beat the GT-R?

You know that a Hellcat is likely your best option if you want to ensure your car can defeat the majority of supercars in a drag race (including any GT-R). So how muscular is it, even if it might merely be a modern muscle car? The 6.2-liter, high-output, supercharged Hemi V8 engine has 707 horsepower!
