2022 Ford Bronco Raptor- An Offroad Beast!

2022 Ford Bronco Raptor- Overview

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor will launch this summer with more power, luxury, and a whole new suspension and chassis, making it bigger, brawnier, and faster off-road than any Ford SUV before it.

The starting price will be $68,500, with a $1,495 destination fee. According to Ford, that’s more than double the base price of a 2022 four-door Bronco, which is $33,450.

According to Bronco brand manager Esteban Plaza-Jennings, this results in a Bronco that is wider, more brutal looking, more equipped, and capable of both high-speed desert racing and leisurely crawling over rocks.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor will be officially sold this March, with most of the first year’s manufacturing going to individuals who convert current Bronco reservations to the Raptor.

The carmaker won’t reveal how many Raptors the Broncos’ assembly factory in Wayne, Michigan, can produce.

Still, it will be ‘limited.’ The bi-turbo V6 engine in the Bronco Raptor is estimated to deliver more than 400 horsepower, up from 315 in the current top model.

Exterior Design

According to design leader Paul Wraith, the Bronco Raptor is 9.8 inches wider than a conventional Bronco, making it the second Ford to earn a Raptor performance edition after the F-150 truck.

This includes an 8.6-inch wider track (the distance between the centers of each wheel on the front and back axles) as well as substantially larger fenders and flares.

In addition, the extra length allows for 37-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, which are the most significant production tires made in America and are 2 inches larger than the tires on the Wrangler Xtreme Recon, the off-road warrior Jeep debuted last year to counter a wave of great publicity for the Bronco.

Other external alterations include a redesigned grille with “Ford” inscribed across it and a larger aperture for enhanced cooling.

The front bumper has been replaced, and a conspicuous silver skid plate with tow hooks is apparent.

Because they’re too bright to use on the road, high-intensity LED lights are installed in the bottom outboard corners to come with caps. Functional vents can be found on the front fenders and hood. Given the Raptor’s 4.8-inch increase in ground clearance to 13.1-inch, a rock rail with stairs aids entry and exit.

Interior Design

The inside contains a 12-inch customizable instrument cluster with a tachometer and a 12-inch touch screen.

The heavier leather steering wheel is thicker than the original Bronco’s and features controls for suspension, steering, and exhaust adjustments, as well as an “R” button for unique driving preferences. Paddle shifters made of magnesium are also standard.

The interior comes standard with marine-grade vinyl seats and a rubberized floor. Leather bolsters and suede inserts are available as an option. Carbon fiber trim is another option.

Adaptive cruise control and B&O audio with ten speakers are offered.

Engine & Powertrain

A 3.0L bi-turbo V6 engine with more than 400 horsepower is expected, with a 10-speed automated transmission and four-wheel drive as standard.

In addition, the chassis and suspension were upgraded to manage the greater power and impacts of high-speed off-roading.

The frame is virtually unchanged from the standard Bronco, but new shock towers and other improvements boost front and rear wheel travel to 13 and 14 inches, respectively.

The rear axle and the front half shafts from Dana were strengthened to accommodate the increased power and impacts. A roof crossbar and a C-pillar brace help to boost torsional stiffness by more than 50%.

The hard plastic top can be removed. The towing capability is increased by 1,000 pounds to 4,500 pounds with a rear brace. In addition, a tow/haul mode has been added to the drive mode selector.

The Bronco Raptor takes components from the giant F-150 Raptor, like brakes.
