Despite the development of trucks, SUVs, crossovers, sedans, and coupes, they aren’t going away anytime soon, and neither are their sporty variants. But, as it happens, one Audi coupe will say its final goodbyes.
The Audi TT RS is bidding farewell after receiving a makeover for 2021. However, it is not going quietly. Audi has announced that the TT RS will be discontinued in the United States after the 2022 model year.
Instead, the manufacturer will send the tiny performance coupe out with a Heritage Edition limited to 50 cars.
The turbo five-cylinder engine from the TT RS lives on in the RS3, and the TT and TTS will continue to be sold in the United States for the time being, but their days are numbered.

Audi has corrected the 2022 TT RS Heritage Edition cost, which was wrongly reported in the initial release, and has confirmed that the TT RS will now start at $86,395. This is almost $4,000 higher than the initial estimate.
The TT RS Heritage Edition will come in five color schemes, each with ten units inspired by the classic Ur-Quattro from the 1980s.
Alpine White with Ocean Blue leather and Diamond Silver stitching or Stone Gray with Crimson Red leather and Jet Gray stitching is the most modest possibility.
Tizian Red with Havanna Brown leather and Jet Gray stitching, Malachite Green with Cognac Brown leather and black embroidery, or the classier Helios Blue with Diamond Silver leather and Ocean Blue stitching options for those seeking to stand out.
The “Heritage Edition” branding and the firing sequence for the five-cylinder engine, and the “Quattro” script are etched into the rear quarter glass on the right side of the automobile.
In addition, the Heritage Edition has Alcantara on the steering wheel and shift lever and 20-inch five-spoke alloys. The rear wing has also been removed for a more streamlined appearance.
The Audi TT RS 2022 and the Heritage Edition will be available early next year.
