All-New 2022 Audi S8| A Complete Review!
2022 Audi S8 Reviews
2022 Audi S8 ups the ante with a 563-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine and a tautly adjusted suspension.
The cabin is roomy and pleasant, with plenty of basic technology and luxury features like massaging seats and enough screens to keep everyone engaged on long rides.
But, for better or worse, the S8’s design is purposely low-key for a sports car, allowing it to remain relatively inconspicuous.
The S8 sedan, like the A8, gets an aesthetic makeover that includes a revised front grille, updated front and rear bumpers, revamped exterior lighting, and new wheel designs.
A new rear-seat entertainment option is offered, as well as a few additional changes to the car’s available grades.
In addition, a slew of driver-assistance functions is included as standard equipment. So although the S8’s starting price is high, it comes well-equipped even by luxury automobile standards.
The Comfort Plus package, which includes heated rear seats, a leather-wrapped dashboard, a head-up display, and fancier LED headlamps, is recommended.
The Executive package, which includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and 21-inch wheels, is also recommended.
Inside the Audi S8 Cabin, you will find a faux-suede headliner, a stitched leather dash cover, and Diamond-stitched leather upholstery all over its’s interior.
The front seats come with standard heating, cooling, and massaging, and the back compartment has plenty of room for passengers to stretch out.
Consider adding the Rear Seat Comfort option, which includes heated, ventilated, and massage power-adjustable outboard seats, plusher headrests, heated armrests, and remote control for the car’s infotainment system.
A multi-colour ambient interior lighting system is standard for four-zone automatic climate control.
The trunk is roomy and identical to the A8, which held six carry-on luggage during our testing.
The interior of the S8, like that of the ordinary A8, is a rolling tech showcase. Climate, audio, navigation, and various networking functions are all controlled by multiple touchscreens.
All standards are the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster, a 10.1-inch higher infotainment system, and an 8.6-inch lower display.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, and in-dash navigation are all standard, and passengers may use the S8’s charging pad to charge compatible smartphones wirelessly.
Audi will provide a 23-speaker system as an option, but audiophiles will be pleased to learn that a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen system is standard.
Engine Specs & Powertrains
The S8’s single-engine option is a powerful twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 with 563 horsepower and 590 pound-feet torque.
The powertrain is an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive is standard. Audi claims a top speed of 155 miles per hour, and there are fuel-saving features such as cylinder deactivation and a mild hybrid system with a small electric motor and battery.
The S8 exploded to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds on our test track. The active suspension system, which is calibrated differently than the conventional A8, can adjust each tire individually to improve the ride quality and promises enhanced cornering abilities thanks to decreased body roll.
In addition, Audi integrates features such as a torque-vectoring rear differential and rear-wheel steering to improve agility.
Range, Total Mileage
Even though the S8 is a hybrid, customers should not expect fuel efficiency compared to the Toyota Prius. According to the EPA, the best we can hope for is 22 miles per gallon on the interstate, with only 13 miles per gallon in the city.
Audi includes several baseline safety measures, while more desirable driver-assistance technology like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are available.
The following are important safety features:
- Pedestrian recognition and standard autonomous emergency braking
- A legal lane departure warning is provided.
- It gets Adaptive cruise control with the semi-autonomous driving mode
