Overview

The 3.0-liter V-6 turbocharged as the TLX is available for that price, but with a roughly $15,000 premium and the 3rd seat row.
The engine delivers 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, a 65-horsepower, and 87-pound-feet improvement over the normal MDX’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine.
In addition, it comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s SH-AWD all-wheel-drive system, as well as adjustable dampers, air springs, and Brembo brakes on Type S variants.

The Type S gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in place of the 3.5-liter, but it also brings a standard air suspension system with variable dampers that are supposed to be a little sharper overall.
Brembo front brakes are mounted behind 21-inch rims, and the standard 10-speed automatic transmission has been modified.
In terms of technology and luxury features, the Type S includes many of the same options as the MDX Advance trim, which starts at $61,995.
Its starting price of $67,745 is less than fully loaded variants of the Genesis GV80, a past Car and Driver 10Best winner with a tad more power thanks to its optional twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6.
While the TLX Type S sedan competes with the Audi S4 and BMW M340i, the MDX compares to non-performance versions of its German three-row SUV competitors, including the $62,695, 335-hp BMW X5 xDrive40i and the $63,195, 335-hp Audi Q7 55.
The Acura is also more expensive than a Porsche Macan S with 375 horsepower.
